A gateway with no shipping, no PO, no waiting

Strix Connect is the software-only data gateway in the Strix family. It does the same job as our Larus appliance — pulls data out of PLCs, DCS, historians and meters and ships it somewhere useful — but it runs as a single binary on hardware you already have. No customs, no commissioning visit, no hardware procurement.

Engineers can deploy it themselves on a spare Linux server, a virtual machine, a Raspberry Pi in the cabinet, or a Kubernetes pod. From docker run to first OPC UA tag flowing in under 30 minutes.

Why teams start here

  • Zero commitment. Free tier covers 100 tags forever. Plant engineers can prove value without raising a PO.
  • Lingua franca of automation. OPC UA in, MQTT or Sparkplug out — fits any modern industrial stack.
  • No data lock-in. Send to your own broker, your own historian, your own cloud. Or to Strix if you want our analytics.
  • Production-grade from day one. Edge buffering, secure transport, structured logging, Prometheus metrics. Not a demo.
  • Path forward. When you outgrow Strix Connect — multi-site redundancy, deterministic edge inference, hardened enclosure — drop in a Larus appliance and keep your config.

What you can build in an afternoon

  • Pump & motor monitoring: pull vibration and current from existing PLCs into MQTT, plot trends in Grafana.
  • Energy logging: stream power-meter Modbus into Kafka for accounting and ESG reports.
  • Replace expensive historian connectors with a free-tier bridge while you replatform.
  • Bridge legacy DCS to a modern cloud platform (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, your private MQTT broker).
